11-Year-Old Boy Airlifted after Hit by Car in North Branch

An 11-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a car in North Branch just after 8 p.m. Thursday night.

North Branch police say the crash happened on Fill Avenue near the intersection of 375th Street.

When police arrived, they found the 11-year-old unresponsive, and he was airlifted to Regions Hospital. At last check, the boy was listed in critical condition.

Police say the boy and his dad were walking along the roadway when a 46-year-old woman drifted across the roadway, hitting the child.

The driver was taken to Fairview Lakes Wyoming Hospital for a blood draw as part of the investigation.

No charges have been filed at this time.
