Man Found Safe after Boat Washes Ashore in Chisago County

A fisherman from Austin, Minnesota, who was reported missing after his boat washed ashore on a Chisago County lake has been located by his family and is unharmed, the Chisago County Sheriff's Office announced Friday.

Around noon Thursday, the sheriff’s office received a report of a 16-foot fishing boat, which appeared to have washed ashore near a home on Belle Isle Drive in Nessel Township on East Rush Lake.

Around 2:20 p.m., 51-year-old Kendahl Jochumsen was reported missing.  He was the registered owner of the boat that washed ashore and was last seen fishing alone on East Rush Lake shortly after midnight.

The sheriff's office announced Friday that Jochumsen was found and is OK. No other details have been released.
