Friends and family of a man shot and killed outside a gas station in Arden Hills are collecting donations for a reward in hopes it will help find his killer.

Forty-four-year-old Ty Hoffman is accused of killing his ex-boyfriend and business partner Kelly Phillips on Aug. 11. Police are still looking for him. A Federal warrant has now been issued for Hoffman for "unlawful flight to avoid prosecution."

Phillips was killed during a dispute at a Holiday gas station near Interstate 35W and Highway 96. He was a vice president and general counsel at Boston Scientific and worked at the Arden Hills office, which is about two miles from where he was killed.

According to witnesses, two men in a BMW parked at the gas pumps and were arguing. They both got out of the vehicle as the dispute escalated, and the driver allegedly shot the passenger, later identified as Phillips, as many as three times as witnesses looked on.

Hoffman and Phillips were co-founders of the Lush Food Bar in Minneapolis.

A reward fund was announced Tuesday.

If you have information about Hoffman's whereabouts, contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS.
