A 39-year-old Lakeville man died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Edina.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Justin Johnson crashed into a guardrail twice on southbound Highway 100 near 77th Street around 5:30 p.m.

Johnson's vehicle then went off the road, up a hill and hit the concrete side of a bridge, the state patrol reported.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Johnson was not wearing a seatbelt.

Johnson was an estates and trusts lawyer with Stoel Rives LLP in Minneapolis. They released the following statement:

"We were greatly saddened to receive news late last evening that our colleague Justin Johnson - a partner in our Minneapolis office - passed away yesterday. We can provide no further details on the circumstances at this time.

We wish to relay our deepest condolences to Justin’s family and loved ones. He was an exceptional colleague, a tremendous lawyer, and a friend to us all. He will be greatly missed."

Johnson graduated from St. Cloud State University and William Mitchell College of Law.  He was selected as a "Rising Star" by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine, 2007-2012.
