KSTP-TV has filed a complaint with the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) over two Data Practices Act requests that were denied. Nearly a year ago, we obtained a police report about a Metro Transit bus driver who was investigated for assaulting a bicyclist.

We asked for the bus video, but Metro Transit told us there was not a criminal investigation and the driver was not disciplined following an internal investigation and we were denied access to the video.

A few months earlier, a Metro Transit bus driver inexplicably drove off the road near Lake Calhoun with passengers on board.

Again, we asked for the bus video, but Metro Transit told us, after an internal investigation, the driver was not disciplined and the video request was denied.

In both cases, we still do not have an understanding of what took place in both incidents. We believe the public has a right to know.

So, after many months of discussion with Metro Transit we decided to seek a court opinion, which could take many months to resolve.

We asked Metro Transit for an on-camera interview but they declined.
