The death of Robin Williams has put depression and suicide into the national spotlight once again.

A Twin Cities organization called "Stomp Out Suicide" is helping others on a local level.

Sean Haines and his wife of Wyoming, Minnesota, started the nonprofit after his 14 year-old daughter, Alissa, took her own life in 2011.

It's dedicated to the prevention of suicide and depression through public awareness and community outreach.

"We got to stop the stigma and make sure people understand it's OK. It's no different than any other disease you get. You have to go get some help and talk about it," Haines said.

Every year the group holds the Alissa Haines 5K Run-Walk in her memory.
