Hennepin County prosecutors say a 24-year-old driver accused of slamming into another vehicle and killing the other driver had a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit for driving.
Michael J. Vanwagner of Coon Rapids was charged Tuesday with two felony counts of criminal vehicular homicide.
Prosecutors say his blood-alcohol content after the July 22 crash was 0.293 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.
Vanwagner had posted a picture of his damaged car to Facebook. The picture was captioned, "That's her front end after I got done with her lol," with a smiley-face emoticon.
Vanwagner confirmed the post was his, and says he wrote it before he realized he'd hit someone.
The crash killed 16-year-old Jason McCarthy of Brooklyn Center.
