Authorities found the suspected getaway car of a north metro gas station shooting, but they still haven’t found the suspect.
A driver reportedly shot and killed a passenger after an argument at a Holiday gas station in Arden Hills on Monday morning. The shooting happened at the gas station near Interstate 35W and Highway 96 around 8:40 a.m.
According to witnesses, two men in a BMW parked at the gas pumps and were arguing. They both got out of the vehicle as the dispute escalated, and the driver allegedly shot the passenger as many as three times as witnesses looked on.
"I have never seen anything like that in my life," said Joshua Polos, one of the first witnesses to call 911. "The driver got out with a pistol, and when the guy in the backseat turned to run, he shot him in the back. He fell to the ground and started begging for his life, screaming."
No one else was hurt.
Investigators have interviewed a person of interest, but are still looking for anyone who may have information about the homicide.
The driver took off and was last seen heading west on Highway 96 in a dark grey, four-door BMW 535i with license place 004-EYY.
Authorities found the car around 11:30 p.m. Monday but still haven’t found the suspect.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call police.
