Minnesotans were treated to Sir Paul McCartney's first concert in the state in almost a decade on Saturday night.

McCartney performed at the sold-out Target Field as part of his "Out There" tour.

People of all ages were came out to see 72-year-old McCartney live on stage. Many were subjected to long security lines before entering the show.

Gov. Mark Dayton officially proclaimed Saturday to be Sir Paul McCartney Day in the state. Fans on social media quickly coined the term, "#McCartneyDayinMN," to celebrate his return.

McCartney’s first performance in Minnesota was with the Beatles in 1965 at Met Stadium in Bloomington. Saturday's concert at Target Field means the legend has now performed in every Minnesota Twins baseball stadium.
