Attorney David Olsen spoke to the media shortly after the jury announced a verdict awarding his client, former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, $1.8 million in his defamation case Tuesday.
Ventura accused slain military sniper Chris Kyle of lying about punching Ventura out at a California bar in 2006. Kyle wrote in his best-selling memoir "American Sniper" that he did it after Ventura badmouthed Navy SEALs.
Olsen says Ventura said "there are no winners in the trial" and that "he's grateful to the jury for the verdict."
Kyle attorney John Borger also spoke after the verdict was read.
