This past weekend I got the opportunity to attend Halfway Jam in Royalton, MN. This is their 11th year and it is produced by Jeff and Tommy Vee.

Halfway Jam is a three day music festival that featured over twenty bands on two stages. Some of the bands that played at Halfway Jam this year were, Lady Luck, Metal Witch, Rock Godz, Honeymoon Suite, Winger, KIX, Sebastian Back, April Wine, Vixen, Firehouse, and Jackyl.

People could buy general admission tickets or VIP tickets that included food and drinks. Some of the people that bought VIP tickets got meet and greets with the artists and they also got to be in the front of the stage for all of the shows.

There was also camping available for an additional price.  I went through the campground and it was packed with people sitting around campfires listening to their favorite music and having a great time.  The thing that I think is really amazing about the camping at Halfway Jam is how close you are to the concert area.  You don’t have to walk very far to the entrance gates.

People come from all over Minnesota, the United States, North America, and even the world to come to Halfway Jam. I got the chance to talk to a couple of guys from Canada and also a guy who came all the way from Australia, because of the bands they get each year.

I was at Halfway Jam all three days and was able to see most of the bands that played. They have a really great set up in my opinion, they have one band play one stage and when they are finished another band starts playing on the second stage. Everything ran smoothly and there was never a delay between bands so that was great.

Out of all the bands that I saw, some of my favorite, were Lady Luck, Metal Witch, KIX, Sebastian Bach, Firehouse and Jackyl.

All of the bands put on great and entertaining shows and you could tell that they all wanted to be there and were having fun.

It was also fun listening to the crowd go crazy when a band like Jackyl played the “Lumberjack Song” or “Winger” playing “Seventeen.”

Halfway Jams is such a fun and friendly atmosphere and the people who attend are there to have a great time and to listen to some great music.

Over all I had a really great time at Halfway Jam this year. They had a ton of great bands and a lot of the bands were bands that I had never seen before in concert so that was very exciting. If you are looking for a fun music festival, then I would highly recommend that you check out Halfway Jam in Royalton, MN.
