They’re celebrating all over Lake Minnetonka this weekend.

Most no-wake restrictions have been lifted and that means Katie Jenkins' bachelorette party can make some waves.

"We booked it months and months ago," she said just before boarding her pontoon. "But, it is a huge plus that it's lifted now."

Marina owners say it's a huge plus for their businesses. too.

"It's sort of like the 4th of July and Christmas all wrapped up in one," said Tom Jacob, who owns Bay to Bay Boat Club in Tonka Bay.

Jacob says his phone has been ringing non-stop.

“We've turned down all kinds of rental customers today for today and tomorrow, and we haven't been doing that all year long," Jacob says.

That doesn't mean it's all smooth sailing, though. Given the unusual summer on Lake Minnetonka, Jacob is concerned about safety.

"Everyone just wants to let loose, and I think it's great to let loose and go fast," he said, "But, keep in mind that you got to be really safe out there."

Jenkins is concerned about safety, too, but that's not the only thing on her mind. We asked her if she wanted to say anything to her husband-to-be before the bachelorette party got started.

“No," she laughed. "That's crazy. Whatever I say is going to be the wrong thing."
