Former Minnesota Twin Chuck Knoblauch was charged Wednesday with assaulting a family member in Houston, Texas.
Reports from stations in Houston say Knoblauch was arrested Wednesday after allegedly hitting his ex-wife Cheri Knoblauch.
Police were called to the Knoblauch residence at 3:49 a.m. on reports of a domestic disturbance.
According to the police report, Knoblauch, who appeared intoxicated, had smashed Cheri's head into a wall and threw a humidifier at her.
Officers identified a large bruise on the complainants left arm, a large scratch on the left side of her face, and a visible knot on her forehead.
Knoblauch was released from jail after posting a $10,000 bond.
The Minnesota Twins announced Thursday that the Twins Hall of Fame induction ceremony scheduled for Knoblauch on Aug. 23 has been canceled.

In light of recent news reports surronding Chuck Knoblauch, as well as direct communication with the former Twins second baseman, the Minnesota Twins have decided to cancel the team's 2014 Hall of Fame induction ceremony scheduled for August 23 at Target Field.
Knoblauch was nominated for the Twins Hall of Fame for his career with the Twins, in which he was a four-time All-Star and 1991 American League Rookie of the Year.
