Minnesota Vikings players arrived in Mankato Thursday for the start of the team's 2014 training camp.

Players and coaches settled into dorms on the campus of Minnesota State University before holding their first team practice Friday, July 25.

Among the first to arrive were special teams kicker Blair Walsh and Jeff Locke, who arrived at camp together. The Vikings tweeted a photo of the two in Star Wars attire as others arrived.

Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson also made his arrival known, wearing Google Glass as he greeted fans.

Rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater received a warm welcome to his first training camp with KSTP's Chris Long naming him the "crowd favorite."

Vikings legend Adrian Peterson was one of the final players to arrive before the team's 2 p.m. report time. He arrived at training camp with a different look: a ring on his finger.

The star running back confirmed he married his longtime girlfriend, Ashley Brown, just five days earlier. They got engaged July 4, and Peterson called that "a pretty exciting and explosive night."

Peterson says the couple was planning on simply making the marriage official in court but decided on an intimate ceremony at their house. He says they tried to keep the news quiet, but the secret started to spill out with their presence in Minnesota for a charity gala the night after the wedding.
