A Minnesota woman was arrested in Ohio Friday night after authorities were looking for her and her 4-year-old son.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Amy Winterfeldt violated a court order by taking her son, Alex Gomm. Winterfeldt was supposed to bring Alex to his father in Appleton, Wisconsin, on July 12, but she never showed.

The boy was reported missing to the Appleton Police Department and a warrant was issued for Winterfeldt’s arrest. It was believed she had her two adopted children with her, along with Alex, and the group was heading out-of-state.

Winterfeldt was arrested in Ohio Friday after she was pulled over for a vehicle equipment violation by the Ohio State Patrol. Authorities say the three minors she was traveling with were unharmed.

Winterfeldt will face charges in Ohio for being a fugitive in possession of a firearm, after two were found with her during the traffic stop, authorities say.
