The new St. Paul Saints Ballpark is the centerpiece in the growing Lowertown neighborhood.

Besides the soon-to-be-completed stadium, there are new additions bringing new life to a once-overlooked area.

There are new restaurants and new places to live around Mears Park.

"We're seeing accolades in USA Today calling it one of the top 10 emerging neighborhoods in the country. I think there are a lot of factors that go into that, but in general it's great partnerships between the public and private sectors," said Tonya Tennessen, City of Saint Paul Communications Director.

The city says the impact of the renovated Union Depot and Metro Green Line is already being felt.

The Saints Ballpark is set to be completed next Spring. Concrete and steel are going up this month, crews will install the field in September.
