Flooding along the Mississippi River in St. Paul is nothing new. However, last month's heavy rains left the area under a lot more water than usual.
Now, the water is low enough for crews to start cleaning up the massive amounts of trash left behind.
Paul Nordell, the Adopt-a-River Project Coordinator with the DNR, stopped by KSTP to talk about the effort. He says the most interesting thing someone has found during a clean up was a refrigerator.
All the garbage collected is recycled.
