Baseball fans will be bundled up Monday night for the Home Run Derby.

Baseball’s heavy hitters are competing at Target Field one day ahead of the All-Star Game. It’s known as the “mid-summer classic,” but it feels a little more like the “early-fall classic.” Temperatures had already dropped below 60 degrees by 5 p.m. Monday in parts of the Twin Cities.

Twins Team Store employees tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS sweaters and jackets have been hot sellers.

The temperatures aren’t cool enough to trigger heat lamps at Target Field. Those are only used when it’s 52 degrees or colder.
