A 70-year-old Monticello man died in a broadside crash in Wright County on Monday morning.

The crash happened on Highway 241 around 6:30 a.m. in St. Michael.

The State Patrol says David Larson was in a Toyota Camry heading south on the highway; a Ford pickup was on the same road heading north. Larson's car turned left onto Oday Avenue and the pickup broadsided the Camry in the intersection.

Larson was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he died around 7:30 a.m.

Vincent Villavicencio of Monticello was also in the Camry. The 54-year-old was taken to North Memorial with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup was identified as 54-year-old Bruce Plante of Buffalo. He had no apparent injury.
