A Minneapolis man is charged with killing one woman and shooting another over the Fourth of July weekend.
Authorities charged 24-year-old Marco Gresham with second-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Francesca Desandre, and attempted second-degree murder in the shooting of another woman, identified as V.G.
Desandre was hosting a party at her Minneapolis home on the 2600 block of Third Street North, and the other victim and Gresham were guests, according to the criminal complaint.
The three, along with other friends, went out together later that night. Authorities say when the three arrived back at Desandre’s house around 5 a.m. Saturday, July 5, Gresham accused V.G. of knowing about Gresham’s alleged involvement in a St. Paul homicide in January. She denied it, but Gresham opened fire, shooting her in the stomach, according to prosecutors.
He then shot Desandre as she was running back to the house, the complaint states.
Gresham is set to be in court Friday, July 11.
