Lawyers will get more time to try and reach a settlement for the mother who crashed her car into a St. Louis Park retaining pond, with five small children inside.
"In terms of losses and punishment, if you will, she's already endured quite a bit. That’s something she's going to have to work with for the rest of her life," said Rick Perry, Marion Guerrido's attorney.
Guerrido, of Brooklyn Center, made a pre-trial court appearance Wednesday.
She’s charged with three misdemeanors, including driving without insurance, violating the rules of her permit and not properly buckling in some children.
Two of the five children in the November crash died.
