Mpls. Police Investigate Off-Campus Assault of U of M Student

Minneapolis police are investigating after a University of Minnesota student was groped near campus Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. off campus near the intersection of Delaware Street and Huron Boulevard, according to U of M police.

The victim was walking home alone when the suspect came up from behind and grabbed her breast on top of her clothing, according to a crime alert from the U of M. The suspect quickly released the victim and then ran behind a building.

The victim was not hurt.

The victim describes the suspect as a white male, between 20 and 30 years of age, five feet five inches to six feet one inch tall, with a medium build. The suspect was wearing an orange and white striped shirt and a black baseball cap.

The victim believes she saw the suspect drive past a short time later in a red or maroon colored car with a number of stickers on the back.
