5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has learned five Ramsey County Court system employees have been disciplined as part of an internal audit of court computers.
Three of the five employees have resigned and the other two are appealing their terminations. State Court administrators confirm their audit found "certain employees had inappropriately used their database access outside their work-related responsibilities in violation of both DVS and branch policies."
The 2nd District Judicial Branch covers all of Ramsey County.
The audit is still underway and state court officials issued a statement that says, in part, the "Minnesota Judicial Branch takes the issue of data security extremely seriously."
The statement goes on to say the, "Minnesota Judicial Branch will continue to take immediate action whenever inappropriate use of non-public data is discovered."
The State Court Administrator's Office is not in a position to comment further about the audit, or these personnel issues, until they've been entirely resolved.
