A 37-year-old man died Tuesday morning after the car he was riding in rolled several times in Chippewa County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The incident happened on Highway 59 at 40th Street Southwest near Montevideo around 11 a.m.
Siprian Ysikar was riding in a Mitsubishi Diamante, driven by 44-year-old Steve Stephen of Milan, with another passenger. The trio was heading south on Hwy. 59.
At some point, the car went onto the shoulder and Stephen over-corrected. The car then went over the center line and went into the ditch on the opposite side of the road, where it rolled several times before coming to a stop.
Ysikar was taken to Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital, where he died, the state patrol says.
Stephen and the other passenger, 19-year-old Marvin Kuttono, didn't have any apparent injuries.
The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office assisted the state patrol.
