Hopkins Man's Body Recovered from Wis. Lake

A 24-year-old Minnesota man died of an apparent drowning in a Polk County, Wisconsin, lake Sunday morning.

The incident happened at a home on Balsam Lake around 10:25 a.m.

Deangelo Williams of Hopkins had been swimming out to a raft in the lake with a female. When she got to the raft, she noticed Williams was no longer behind her.

A water search was launched. Williams body was found at 11:43 a.m. in 10 feet of water about 30 yards away from the dock, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Polk County Medical Examiner.

The case remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's and Medical Examiner's offices.
