The Caver County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two men who allegedly robbed a hotel Thursday afternoon in Chanhassen at gunpoint.
Sheriff Jim Olson said the two men came into the Chanhassen Inn on the 500 block of West 70th Street, shortly before 4 p.m., showed a handgun and demanded cash.
The person who gave the two men cash was not harmed, but the men escaped before police arrived.
A K-9 assisted sheriff’s deputies in a search of the area and the Minnesota State Patrol searched by helicopter.
The sheriff’s office described the first suspect as a Hispanic or Asian male in his early 20s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a slender build. According to a news release, the suspect had a small patch of black facial hair under his chin and was wearing a black or navy blue baseball cap with “TC” in front, a black zip-up style “Nike” windbreaker, denim shorts, and black high top shoes.
The second suspect was described as a Caucasian male in his early 20 and approximately 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches in height with a thin build with a short, “buzz” style haircut. The witness said he was wearing a blue “pull-over” style sweatshirt with a hood and front-pocket pouch and faded black or grey jeans that were ragged on the bottom. The release said the suspect is described as looking “really dirty.”
