The teenager who fell from a second story balcony on Saturday at the Mall of America while attempting a handstand, had only minor injuries.

Witnesses told Bloomington police they saw the teen trying to do a handstand and lose his balance.

The 17 year-old was taken to a local hospital.

Hart says the boy was at the mall with his father, who was elsewhere at the time.
Deputy police Chief Rick Hart doesn't think the teen will be cited although he suspects the boy learned a painful lesson. He says the boy's acrobatic attempt "probably wasn't his smartest move."
In 2003, a man who was sitting on an escalator handrail died after he fell two stories.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
