Matt Bristol, the man who founded Matt’s Bar in Minneapolis, died Thursday morning at the age of 89.
Family said he died just a few hours before President Barack Obama visited the restaurant Thursday. He died after a battle with Parkinson's disease.
Paul Rees, the cook manager at Matt’s Bar, said he met Bristol when he would come in for coffee on occasion.
Rees said the president’s visit felt like a tribute to Bristol.
