A memorial service is scheduled for the teenage victim of a plane crash in Sauk Rapids.

St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis says a service will be held Wednesday for 16-year-old Alexander Voigt at the River's Edge Convention Center in downtown St. Cloud.

Kleis hosted Voigt as a foreign exchange student for the last 10 months.  The mayor tells WJON they wanted to honor Voigt's life and are holding the service on the day he was to return to Germany.

Kleis says Voigt's parents have traveled from Germany and plan to be in attendance.  The service is open to the public.

Federal investigators are trying to determine what caused the small plane to crash into a house last Friday, killing the pilot, Scott Olson, and Voigt.
