A little girl helped police unravel an elaborate fake home invasion scheme in Washington state.
Police say it was orchestrated by the 4-year-old's babysitter. Now, little Abby Dean has quite the story to tell.
"Wednesday was the worst day in my life," she said. "They told us to get out of the house 'cause they wanted to steal stuff.
"The bad guys stole my kitty bank, they stole my iPod. They also stole my XBox and my Wii," Abby said.
Investigators say Abby's 17-year-old babysitter put together a plan for the false home invasion, along with her 16-year-old boyfriend and another teen. They say she made up a story about two armed black men breaking into the Ferndale, Washington, home.
However, Abby stepped up and told investigators the suspects were not black, they were white. That's when the babysitter's story started to crumble, and she confessed.
Now, Abby and her family have all of their stolen belongings back. “They got it back because of me being the superhero,” Abby said.
The suspects are now facing charges.
