Funnel clouds have been reported across the south metro Monday afternoon.

They could possibly continue to develop over the next several hours from rain showers, according to the National Weather Service.

These types of funnel clouds don't normally touch the ground and rarely cause any damage. They typically only last a few minutes before dissipating.

People who see these clouds shouldn't be alarmed. However, the NWS says to remain alert and be prepared to move to safety in the event a funnel approaches the ground.
