The 41-year-old woman who died after she was hit by a METRO Blue Line train Friday in Minneapolis has been identified.

Karen Lynn Fraser of Minneapolis was walking just north of the crosswalk at the intersection of 35th Street and Hiawatha Avenue as the train was heading southbound.

Markers in the crosswalk were down, signaling a train was coming, according to METRO Transit police.

Fraser died on the scene, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Police say this is the 11th fatality in the ten years the line has been running.
