No Major Damage after Tornado Reports in Swift County

A tornado reportedly hit near Benson in western Minnesota on Thursday afternoon, authorities say.

Around 4:02 p.m., the Swift County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a trained weather spotter of a possible tornado. 

The sheriff’s office received multiple reports of funnel clouds and confirmed touchdowns extending from just south of Benson to north and northwest of Benson.

At this time, there have been no reports of any severe damage. The sheriff’s office reports branches on the ground and one building that had some siding blown off.

The National Weather Service is surveying the area.
