Heavy rain and flooding is forcing people across the state and Twin Cities metro to scramble and sandbag.

Along the Minnehaha Creek, neighborhoods in Minnetonka, Edina, Minneapolis and St. Louis Park are working hard to save their properties.

Caprice Bart is trying to save her house on Meadowbrook Boulevard in St. Louis Park; the Minnehaha Creek wraps around her property is over flowing.

She ignored the warnings from the fire department.

“They kept saying it was going to get bad. 'It's happening; it's going to get bad, you should sandbag,'" Bart said. " I was like, 'No, I’ll be fine. We'll be fine, and it's not,'” Bart said.

Luckily, her neighbor Elaine, the Community Emergency Response team, and Boys Scout Troop 123 have come to the rescue.

Just down the block, Anna Mulfinger and her husband were filling sandbags. She says the situation has gotten pretty bad over the last couple of days that that they've filled "around 200 bags, ultimately, whatever it takes to secure our property."
