I cannot say this enough, but I am a huge fan of Transformers and just about everything related to them.

This past week I received a review copy of Shout Factory’s “Transformers Animated: The Complete Series” on DVD.  The set comes with six very colorful and detailed DVD’s that contain all 42 action packed episodes.  Even the pilot episodes are included which is awesome.  Included is the never before released third season which I think is very exciting.

The “Transformers Animated” series ran from 2007 – 2009.

I really think that the episodes are very well written and very creative.  I really enjoy the fact that the show can be very series and then all of sudden some humor will be added to lighten the mood.

In “Transformers: Animated,” the Autobots have just defeated the Decepticons and they just discovered the “Allspark” which is a highly sought after power source.  The Autobots take the Allspark back to their ship and the Decepticons attack them.  The ship that the Autobots and Decepticons are on explodes sending everyone to Earth.  A robotics scientist discovers the crash site and learns about the Transformers by studying them.

After 50 years the Autobots who are led by Optimus Prime awaken along with the Decepticons and they must protect the Allspark from the Decepticons.  Not only do they have to worry about the Decepticons, but the Autobots must also protect Earth from other villains.

At first the Transformers try to hide their identities, but the scientist’s daughter learns about them and she teaches them all about Earth.  I thought that this was pretty neat.

I really liked the animation and thought that it was very unique.  There are so many different “Transformer” animated series and each one has a different art style and I think that’s great.

All of the characters are very well drawn and are extremely detailed.  The backgrounds are colorful and the animation looks amazing.

Another cool thing about “Transformers Animated:The Complete Series” is that some of the episodes contain audio commentaries with writer Marty Isenberg, director Matt Youngberg, voice director/voice of “ARCEE” Susan Blu, voice of “Optimus Prime” David Kaye, and character designer/art director Derrick Wyatt.

I really enjoyed Shout Factory’s “Transformers Animated: The Complete Series” a lot.  The episodes are very well written and full of action.  I really also liked the animation style a lot and thought it looked great.  I know fans of Transformers are really going to enjoy the audio commentary as much as I did, because it very entertaining.
