Long-Term Ramp Closures Underway for I-35E in St. Paul

Long-term lane and ramp closures on Interstate 35E in St. Paul are underway Wednesday as part of a project to add a MnPASS Express lane.  

On Wednesday evening traffic on southbound I-35 was be reduced to two lanes, and four ramps closed including: Little Canada Road to southbound I-35E, southbound I-35E to eastbound Highway 36, Westbound and eastbound Highway 36 to southbound I-35E and Roselawn Avenue to southbound I-35E.  

The Minnesota Department of Transportation said motorists should expect more closures at the beginning of next week.

Northbound I-35E will be reduced to two lanes and seven ramps will close including:

  • Maryland Avenue to northbound I-35E
  • Northbound I-35E to Roselawn Avenue
  • Roselawn Avenue to northbound I-35E
  • Northbound I-35E to westbound Highway 36
  • Northbound I-35E to eastbound Highway 36
  • Westbound and eastbound Highway 36 to northbound I-35E
  • Northbound I-35E to Little Canada Road.

I-35E will remain two lanes in each direction, and the ramps will remain closed until about mid-October.
