Last week I got the opportunity to watch Anchor Bay Entertainment’s “The House of Dust,” and I really enjoyed it a lot.

“The House of Dust,” is a brand new horror film that was inspired by true events.

It was directed by A.D Calvo and stars Inbar Lavi, Steven Grayhm, Eddie Hassell, and Holland Roden.

The film starts out right away, by showing the viewers some of the horrible things that went on in the Redding House Asylum 60 years ago.  The inmates were experiments of an insane doctor and after the patients passed away, they were cremated.

The film then jumps a head to present time, where a group of medical students break into the abandoned Redding Asylum and knock over some of the canisters that contain the ashes of the previous patients.  One of the canisters contains the ashes of a serial killer.  The students breathe in the ashes and eventually become possessed by the spirits of the Redding House patients.  Now Emma (Inbar Lavi), who is struggling with her own illness of hearing voices and seeing things that are not there, must try and figure out a way to stop the madness and get rid of the spirits that have possessed her friends.

I really thought the story was pretty good and interesting.  The movie does take a while to get going at first, but once it does, you will be on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.

The special effects looked pretty good, and there didn’t seem to be a lot of CGI used, which I liked.  I am a fan of the old school special effects.

Overall, I really enjoyed Anchor Bay Entertainment’s “House of Dust” a lot.  I feel that it is a fun and thrilling new horror film that you should check out.

House of Dust is rated “R” for some violence, language and brief drug use.
