Confusion and frustration: that's what some drivers and pedestrians found on the first weekday for the new Metro Green Line.
After decades of planning, the 11-mile light rail line between downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul opened for business over the weekend.
We found some lights more than 3 minutes long on University Avenue and some close calls as drivers made illegal turns in front of trains.
"This is going to be a work in process," Metro Transit Spokesman John Siqveland said. "We're going to continue working with the traffic departments of Minneapolis and St. Paul on signal timing to refine it."
More than 75,000 people rode the Green Line over the weekend.
