A 28-year-old man who was on Hennepin County's Top Ten Most Wanted List was arrested Tuesday during a warrant sweep.
John Thomas Elsenpeter of Crystal was wanted for first-degree drug sale, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office. He was arrested at a home in Crystal.
Another person who had an active warrant was arrested alongside Elsenpeter, according to sheriff's office spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson. During the arrests, Hennepin County authorities and Crystal police confiscated illegal narcotics.
The sheriff's office began conducting a warrant sweep Tuesday, focusing on drug-related offenses, Johnson said. The sweep will last until the end of July.
Around 155 offenders with active warrants are targeted, Johnson said. Many have past arrests and convictions.
The sheriff's office added three more people to list of the county's Most Wanted during Tuesday's sweep. View the list here.
In January, the sheriff's office and local law enforcement satisfied at least 1,385 warrants during a sweep focused on DWI-related offenses, officials said. The figure includes arrests and the voluntary surrenders of 832 wanted individuals, authorities said.
