When school gets out for the summer, the one-third of Minnesota kids that get free or reduced-price meals during the academic year won't have access to the food they need.

To help fill the gap, 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS is teaming up with local hunger relief organizations for "Summer Harvest for Kids."

During our evening newscasts Tuesday, volunteers from Matter will be taking calls from people who want to donate, and people who are looking for a summer food program for their kids.

Coming up during our newscasts  4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, BMO Harris Bank will be matching donations up to $5,000!

To donate, call the phone bank at 651-646-1699 or visit the Summer Harvest for Kids web page: http://bit.ly/1xDVSGG
