Woman Rescued from Old Mine Pit in Chisholm Airlifted

Crews rescued a woman who fell down an old mine pit in Chisholm on Monday afternoon.

The 30-year-old woman fell about 100 feet, according to KSTP sister station WDIO.

Residents say the area where the woman fell is a popular one for kids who like to jump in and swim.

Chisholm Police Chief Vern Manner says the victim was recovered around 4:30 p.m. and brought up the hill of the cliff.

The woman had serious injuries, according to authorities. She was airlifted to Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
