A community vigil will be held Wednesday for Nehemiah Steverson, a 17-year who died on Sunday in a North Minneapolis shooting.

Steverson was found shot in North Minneapolis on the 1600 block of Newton Avenue North.

The Community Vigil is being hosted by the family of Nehemiah Steverson and the Minneapolis Chapter of MAD DADS.

"There's nothing bad you could say about Nehemiah, he was just loved by everybody." His grandmother told to the Star Tribune.

Nehemiah's father said, "He put a smile on my face every time that I saw him."

The family is asking for financial support for the funeral cost. Donations can be made at any BMO Harris Bank; the account title is MAD DADS F.B.O. Nehemiah.

The vigil will be on Wednesday, June 4, at 6 p.m. at North Commons Park.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the TIPS Line at 612-692-8477.
