Man Pretending to Need Help Steals Woman's Car Near Princeton

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who pretended to need help and then stole a woman’s car Wednesday night near Princeton.

The woman told police she found the man lying on the shoulder of County Road 2 around 10:45 p.m. with a bike on top of him.

When the woman stopped, the suspect ran to her car and started to drive away. The woman tried to stop the man, but he pushed her from the moving car and drove off, according to the sheriff’s office.

The woman suffered minor injuries.

Police are looking for a silver, two door, 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. It has the Minnesota license plate XNE-531.
