Two adults and three juveniles have been charged with third-degree murder for the drug-related death of a Woodbury teen back in January.

Nineteen-year-old Alexander Lee Clausen, 19-year-old Cole Alexander Matenaer, 17-year-old Sydney Claire Johnson, 17-year-old Alistair Curtis Berg, and 17-year-old Brian Phillip Norlander are all facing charges.

According to the criminal complaint, Woodbury police were called to Commonwealth Avenue around 9:10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, on a report of an unresponsive woman. An investigation revealed that the 17-year-old ingested a synthetic drug called 25i-NBOMe, which was also distributed and passed around the five people who are now facing charges.

Washington County prosecutors say Tara Fitzgerald died after she took the substance similar to acid or LSD.

Prosecutors say the drug was passed from Clausen to Matenaer to Johnson to Berg to Norlander to Fitzgerald over the course of a year.
