The University of Minnesota softball team dropped a two-game series to Oregon in the NCAA Super Regional Saturday and Sunday, ending their 2014 season.

The Ducks earned a 10-2 victory on Saturday and 6-2 victory Sunday to eliminate the Gophers from the tournament.

The 16th-seeded Gophers entered the Super Regional after defeating Auburn in the second of two elimination games in the Regional tournament. The Gophers also won their first Big Ten Tournament title since 1999 this season.

The Gophers finish their season with a record of 44-12.

There were three seniors on the Gopher roster this season. Sara Moulton, Bree Blanchette and Kelsey Klucas each played their final game in maroon and gold, recording 142 career wins during their time with the team.
