A vigil was held Monday night for a teenage boy who was pulled from the Mississippi River in St. Paul Park. His body was recovered around 1:30 a.m. Monday, according to authorities.

According to Facebook posts by family members, the teen is 14-year-old Dylan Thorp. Authorities have not released an official identity.

A friend, who was with Thorp, said he went swimming to get a stick at Lions Levee Park when he went under the water and disappeared around 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office confirmed it was a drowning. Water levels are running fast, according to officials.

About 100 people attended the vigil for Thorp, which was held at Lions Levee Park.
