A small North Shore community is pitching in to get a favorite business back up and running.

Much of Russ Kendall's Smoke House burned down last weekend in Knife River. This weekend, folks in town tried to clean up anything that was salvageable.

The fire was ruled accidental, but even with insurance the owners say rebuilding will be a struggle.

There’s no timeline for when Russ Kendall's will re-open, but the owners say all this help will make it happen sooner than expected.
