Transit police are investigating after a driver apparently hit a light rail train on a test run in St. Paul on Friday morning.
Police said the Green Line train was heading eastbound, crossing University Avenue at Eustis Street, while a car was attempting to make a wrong-way left turn around 8:20 a.m.
The car hit the left side of the train as it was making the illegal turn, police said.
Police said the train stopped after the collision and the driver was located a few blocks away. Police said he was cited for an improper U-Turn.
No injuries were reported.
The train has resumed its route.
The Green Line is scheduled to open June 14.
