Investigation Continues after Possible Human Remains Found in Lakeville Park

Authorities are investigating after bones believed to be human were discovered Thursday in a Lakeville park.

Police were called just after 2 p.m. to Ritter Farm Park at 195th Street and Interstate 35. Police believe the bones have been in the park for some time. A student tells KSTP the man who made the discovery is a former teacher and coach at Lakeville South High School.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Agents and Crime Scene Investigations Unit will be assisting the Lakeville Police Department and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office with the investigation.

There is no threat to park visitors or area residents, according to police.
