A 26-year-old man has been hospitalized after an early-morning car chase resulted in a one-car crash Saturday morning in St. Paul.
Police attempted to pull the man over in Maple Grove around 3 a.m. for suspected driving under the influence along Hemlock Lane and Interstate 94. The man slowed his car, but did not stop, authorities said.
This lead to seven different police departments assisting in a 30 minute chase through Maple Grove, St. Paul and Crystal, according to authorities.
Police successfully turned his car sideways while in pursuit, also known as a PIT maneuver, and he crashed near 36th Avenue and County Road 81, authorities said.
The man was taken to an area hospital for evaluation following the crash. His condition is not known at this time.
Maple Grove Police, the Minnesota State Patrol, Minneapolis Police, St. Paul Police, Crystal Police, and Robbinsdale Police all assisted in the incident.
